Please continue your thoughts and prayers for Central Illinois. Many of our neighbors here in Central Illinois and North have such flooding waters they are losing their homes and businesses are closing. This is a big deal and something we are not used to seeing here.
If anyone locally can help contact the red cross, they need sandbaggers and others who can help in other ways. Donations are also much needed. Many are in shelters right now. http://www.redcross.org/il/peoria/

Illinois Ghost Seekers is sad to see that Royce Elliot a local legendary comedian passed away this week. Having met him several times he is a kind gentle man who loved to make people laugh. I remember seeing many of his performances as a child and he often made me giggle like crazy. In the last couple years we were featured a few times on "Breakfast with Royce and Roger", a WMBD AM radio show, in the mornings. Even at age 77 he still had the mad skills of giving me the giggles. Rest in peace Royce. We will remember how much you made us laugh. I'm sure you're smiling down on us. #illinoisghost

An amazing man, Richard Pryor, was a local Peorian. He lived in Peoria until he was 21 years old. One of the most famous comedians lived in poverty and worked his way to the top. He is a great icon and may he continue to rest in peace. Thank you Mr. Pryor for making us laugh for so many years.

Lots of areas around Central Illinois and Chicago got hit bad by these storms. We have another wave coming today. Please say a little prayer for all those effected. They will be in our thoughts and prayers. One of our investigators has major flooding in his basement and lost several appliances possibly his furnace. Doug hang in there!
Our friends at www.centralillinoisproud.com will have up-to-date information about the floods and these storms.

Scottish Rite Temple, Peoria, IL.
According to the Scottish Rite - Valley of Peoria website:
On May 7, 1924, during the Spring Reunion, the cornerstone of the present home for the Scottish Rite Bodies was laid. The ceremony was conducted ...by Arthur E. Wood, Grand Master of Illinois, and his corps of officers.
The project was the culmination of a long-planning search by Edward Ulysses Henry for a temple design worthy of the Scottish Rite Bodies of Peoria. He finally found his inspiration in Scotland, and endowed the new building with many of the ideas and features he admired there and found suitable.
Flying buttresses and the beautiful, symbolic stained glass windows became the distinguishing features, and add much to the architectural beauty of the building. The Scottish Rite Bodies of Peoria are proud to be a part of this great community. The current membership for our Valley is approximately 2,100 members.
